Everything you wanted to know about Polish Run, but were afraid to ask

Below is a list of the most frequently asked questions and answers related to the organization of this year's Polish Run event.

Running with Covid-19 restrictions

The Polish Run competition takes place as part of the "Trail of the Meyboom" competition and must be organized in accordance with the guidelines of the National Security Council of Belgium. As of today, the main modification is the possibility of admitting 1500 people (including organizers and volunteers) at the same time to the venue of the event. Each participant, volunteer, supplier, organizer present at the competition is required to carefully read the guidelines for preventing COVID-19, which are available at: https://www.zatopekmagazine.com/en/trail-of-the-meyboom/practical-information/#  

Registration

Registration for the Polish Run competition is possible only electronically via a dedicated link: prod.chronorace.be

Registration is possible until 4th of September. It is not possible to sign up on the day of the competition.

Only registration via the link above guarantees that you will receive Polish Run T-shirt and medal. People who register to participate 10 km run via the link on the "Trail of the Meyboom" website will not be part of the Polish Run.

Collection of starting numbers

On competition day, 1 hour before the race: Boitsfort racetrack (chaussée de la Hulpe, 53 - 1180 Uccle). Everyone registered 5 days before the competition will receive an e-mail with detailed information on the course of the event and a QR code, which will have to be presented when collecting the starting number.

Polish Run T-shirt and medal

Each registered participant of the Polish Run will receive a commemorative T-shirt and a medal as part of the starting fee. T-shirts can be picked up at the East Poland House (Avenue de Tervueren 48, 1040 Etterbeek) from Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 16:00 (except August 25) and on the day of the competition at our stand.

The medal can be picked up at our stand immediately after the competition.

Timetable of the event

09:00: 42km Run & Bike (start)
09:05: 42km Trail (start)

10:00: 10km Polish Run Trail (start)
10:05: Walks 10km/21km (start)

11:30: 21km Trail (start)

Luggage room

  • From 7.30 am to 6.00 pm
  • Reservation recommended by the registration form (1 €)
  • Same-day registration (€ 2) within space limit
  • Location: start/finish area of ​​the Hippodrome de Boitsfort

Showers and changing rooms

Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus crisis and due to health measures taken by the government, showers and changing rooms will not be available in this year's edition.

Physiotherapists and masseurs

Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus crisis and health measures taken by the government, this year's service will not be possible.

Catering

During the competition, a bar will be open, where you will be able to buy drinks and a regenerative meal.

I have tried to register but an error has occurred and the system refuses to register for the second time.

The easiest way is to re-register by changing the sign in your first name or last name.

Can I resign from participation in the competition in the event of an injury or other reasons?

It is possible up to 30 days before the event.

Can I give my bib number to someone else if I cannot take part in the competition?

You can change your name or request a refund 30 days before the event.

Can I pick up a bib number for a friend?

Yes, no proof of identity is required for this.

The route of the run

The route will be marked with arrows on the trees and on the ground. However, we also recommend using GPS (mobile app, watch or other device) to avoid any unforeseen events. Instructions related to GPS devices are available in English and French.

Please note that the route may be slightly changed for various reasons. We recommend that you download the final version of the GPS file (link - GPS) one week before the competition.

Can I rn with my dog?

Yes, if it is kept on a leash and if you start at the back so as not to disturb other participants.

Do I need a medical certificate to take part in the competition?

No, a medical certificate in Belgium is not required.

What does "trail" mean and do you need special preparation and equipment?

Where can I find the competition regulations?

The competition regulations are available in English, French and Dutch.
